Sergey Alekseyevich Aristov contributed a lot to the development of the Barents transport system. Among other important achievements he was supporting the BEATA Steering Committee in initiating and updating the Joint Barents Transport Plan.

One of the most significant results of this work was the opening of the Cross-Border Corridor Murmansk-Kirkenes in Autumn 2017, including a new tunnel and a bridge on the Norwegian side and a new federal road on the Russian side. Mr. Aristov headed the Russian delegation in that opening ceremony.
