The International Barents Secretariat now invites students and young professionals from Finland, Norway, Sweden and the Barents regions of Russia to be a part of the Secretariat’s team as interns.

The reports from the "Assessment of need of activities to support Children and Youth At Risk (CYAR) in the Barents Region" project, has been presented at the latest Joint Working Group on Health and Social related Issues (JWGHS) meeting in Syktyvkar in September 2019. The project is financed by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and performed by the Finnish institute for Health and Welfare.

Barents Scholarships for Cultural Cooperation is an initiative on awarding scholarships to cultural actors in the Barents Region

Barents Ministerial Meeting on Transport took place on September 11-12 in Umeå, Sweden.

Starting this week, Liubov Timonina will be working as an intern at the International Barents Secretariat.

Quite many events on the high level are scheduled for the last month of the Swedish BEAC Chairmanship. Those are the Transport Ministerial Meeting in Umeå, Parliamentary Conference in Haparanda and biennial Barents Rescue in Kiruna. Also some working groups will have their meetings in September.

Vindelälven-Juhtatdahka Biosphere Candidate got its application granted and the area is now a new Biosphere Reserve within UNESCO´s Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB).

The workshop arranged for training industry practitioners, regional environmental officers and BAT experts of the Murmansk region (SA No 1b-5) has become the final training event in a series of intensive workshops organised in the Barents region within the framework of Supporting Activities.

International Barents Secretariat has released a new video "This is IBS in Kirkenes, Norway", in which the staff of the IBS tells about their contribution on enhancing the work within Barents Cooperation.
